Met up with SK at Bukit Panjang Plaza to hand over the coloured sequential pieces. I guess he felt elated when he saw it. Had trouble with printing the 7 pages earlier in the morning. I actually had to go down to the store for the replacement inks 3 times; for the colours Yellow, Magenta and Cyan. The printer's status monitor is so damn unreliable. Although the printer's colour profile is not really in tune with the document's, I felt contented since I managed to finish it on time.
Soon after that met up with Dina at Hereen. Her boss is around so we didn't really have time to talk. She seemed more cheerful now, guess that now she's no longer single, and probably that makes her a better person. Felt happy for her anyway. By the way I waited for little more than half and hour to get to Somerset MRT since it was raining so heavily. Got drenched because I walked all the way, didn't even think about running since my slippers are so slippery! Rather get wet than pulling a stunt on the streets.
Got home, and brother needed to go out. At least dad got someone to look after at home. This morning dad went out alone again, but I realized only after I woke up. Thank god nothing happened.
Couldn't meet up with Nat at Starbucks NP, as well as the rest of the guys for 300. Maybe next time. By the way thanks Nat for the proof reading! Kisses!
Just another day off from work, and my legs feels like Spongebob’s. I reckon there’s alot of things to do today, but unfortunately I couldn’t decide on the order of how to accomplish them in a single day. Just to name a few, the room needs cleaning, my Oly needs cleaning, the Xbox360 needs a gamertag, my blog needs a face lift and I need sleep! The urge to go out and actually take photos falls somewhere in the middle of the list. Tried to sms a particular friend but ended up exchanging brief messages with his girl. Yikes! I better stay away!! Realizing an anomaly of oneself, I keep storing the wrong numbers (i.e: my friend’s girlfriend’s) in my contact list these days. God forgive me.
Been feeling this beautiful song these days. I recall falling in love with it the first time I heard it over Class 95.
Silent Lucidity by Queensryche via Youtube.
I felt it was freaky but a little pleasant at the same time, and I could safely list it in my mind that it’s my first kind of a dream of actually going out taking macro shots with my Oly! Like most bedtime skits, it wasn’t all too vivid and I couldn’t recall much besides holding the three fragile pieces of glass and actually attaching it to the lens, and it was blurry too – as if I’m looking through a lensbaby!
By the way, guess I’ve gotten myself into the ring of newshounds in the anomaly magazine Fortean Times.
So far I’ve submitted two stories on two dates – the auspicious
06.06.06 and the following day. In the meantime, I’ve got to dig for
more stories!
Nevermind that I wont be joining Taufik, Shasila, Rohaizad and the rest to the upcoming Oasis concert here, but it seems Dina's got the biggest ticket of all. Apparently after she'll be heading to the Bangkok Rock 100 Festival with her T&G crew and work with the festival's backstage business. Lol. She got Taufik screaming with jealousy alright, and she's gonna drool over the band member's head..
The night was spent to make up with last year's countdown that I've missed.
Last night was fairly awesome, although initially I didn't really want to be out. Hooked up with Dina at her place and then off to Clarke Quay, bumped with Garzali and Sharifah at Starbucks. MOS was totally out of the picture since the queue was amazing. Walked our way to The Esplanade but found ourselves walking against the swarm of people heading for the bay. An hour before midnight, we finally decided to head back to Clarke Quay, and fortunately spent the ticking with Shafit, Puteri, Shasila and Suzy at Home.
What I've seen around me during the explosions in the sky is like a sentence in the book Around The World In Eighty Days by Jules Verne:
"They soon found themselves in Montgomery Street, where a great crowd was collected; the side-walks, street, horsecar rails, the shop-doors, the windows of the houses, and even the roofs, were full of people."
It's quite unbeleivable that inservice training finished off at noon today. I had trouble taming the lower back of my hair, slap on a dollop of hairgel just to escape from being spotted by the CJ during inspection. Got a haircut only after inservice, call me a moron for not getting it the day before. All the trouble. Funny thing is, CJ commented on Sufian's hair(whom was next to me) for being unruly instead of mine... and I got away. Haha.
Almost headed down to Bugis, checked with Dina if she's on training today so perhaps I could meet her there in the evening. Since she's working and it's raining outside, I think I'll just stay at home, and spend the rest of the afternoon playing Resident Evil 4. There seems to be some sort of challenge going on; Gazali, Effendy and Khairi are the ones whom always rushing to finish the game first. Myself, being indirectly involved in the quest. Just this afternoon I got a call from Sharifah (at the time when Gazali was playing RS4), she wanted to know how I managed to get past a particular level of the game. Lol. It's kinda cute when you get a husband and wife team of avid PS2 gamers.
As an added note, I've finally decided not to sell off my console to Zulkarnaen. Wanted to offer him at $250 but there seems to be alot of good stuff going on which makes it hard for me to put down the controller.
I felt like I've lost my virginity today. After the tour of duty I was literally carried by a bunch of morons from the briefing room right to the lift and into the locker room. It was like cavemen whom had just got thier prized game. My hands and legs were gripped, and I felt like it was the last day of my life - anyway, I was too tired to do anything.
In the locker room they started to strip my pants out, and expectedly my underwear. I pleaded not to tickle, so they spared me from it. Suddenly Masri came with something in his hand. It didn't take long for me to realise what it was. To my disbelief, he took the trouble to wipe it on my 'manhood'! Everyone was like a bunch of idiots, laughing. The kiwi came after that. I thank God nothing else was prepared. I heard Sufian had hair gel, kiwi, and the obligatory magic tissue. Ofcourse I recognise the faces who participated. Masri, Jasni and Adrian being the instigators. Iskandar, Zul Iskandar, Hashrin, Shasila. Hamidie and Fazelan got the video on thier handphones. I still have no idea which jerk with the Nutella.
The moral of the story is that it doesn't matter if your birthday is already over. They'll still get you. So much for the magic tissue. I still have that tingling sensation. Morons.
A week to my birthday, and I'm still clueless about plans. I've felt that I need to learn on taking things a little simpler now, I've got 5 more years to reach the thirties! Alhamduillah - blessed for good health.
Sent my O2 for a g-mask the other day. I'm quite impressed with the overall finish, although the price was a little steep. Nevertheless its catalogs were not that extensive. Save the hassle for getting my inner pockets to stick out after pulling my mobile out - I'm putting the silicon skin away. Now I feel that I should probably mask my iPod and digicam too.
Met Sally on the same day, well it's not actually a meet. While looking at the JCDecaux ad by the bustop at Dhoby Ghaut, I realised a familiar face among the parade of people walking by reflected from the glass panel of the ad. As she walked past me I looked on, wondering if that's really her. On the bus I dialled her number, and I found out that it was her. Coincidentally she also realised the person whom was looking at her - also thru the reflection from the ad glass panel.
People can meet in strange ways.
I admit, I jumped a few times in my seat while watching The Maid. Shafit was the one who spotted me, what’s worse at one time when the popcorn flew all over. That’s ok, I don't mind being the scapegoat for being wimpy.. at least for this movie.
Despite the poor reviews on magazines or anywhere you might have read, the reason I particularly like The Maid is because it has something we can relate too, as Singaporeans. We all know about the month, the reason hell money are burnt, and its taboos. Nevertheless, some audience might think the storyline is a bit of a crap, but I would recommend it to any die-hard Asian horror fans, like myself. Now whenever I’m on my way home only to see the ashes of hell money scattered in places along my void deck, I can’t help but to recall the creepy scenes from the movie. Yikes!
As an added note, I think Alessandro is like a peach on a little red wagon.
Was browsing The Newpaper today (unfortunately I couldn’t recall which day the paper was dated) when I came across an article by Art Fazil. Theory has it that Jack The Ripper could be a Mat – a malay cook to be exact whom worked onboard ships during the 1800s. Shocking. After some web research I’ve discovered a slew of casebooks that attest the theory. You can read one of them in Crime Library.
Caught a night movie with the Midnight Legs. Almost forgot about that initial after work plans. I was about to enjoy my mi soto with the rest down at Transit when Sharifah and Effendi messaged me.
"Are you coming?"
I was almost clueless, and suddenly after the conversation on the phone I've finally realised that I need to rush. I've decided to pass the mi soto to Faris. After a few rejects he'd finally accepted it, as if the gesture was meant to be an act of 'proper'. Anyway I felt that I can make it, since I've got another 35 minutes.
Thank god Land of the Dead is not so senseless. In this 4th installment, the only thing that is comparable to Dawn is its use of armoured vehicle as the primary arsenal for the agitating zombies. Nevertheless, I applause for George A. Romero's writing for the movie and special efx is no less awesome. Be warned though, this movie is ultra violent.
By the way, I'm surprised that the filming for DaVinci Code is in the pipeline. Among actors are Tom Hanks as Robert Langdon, Audrey Tautao as Sophie and John Leno as French detective Bezu Fache.
